Postnatal oxygen can cause retinopathy of prematurity. Exposure to oxygen increases reactive oxygen species production and vascular dysfunction in neonates. The goal of this project is to determine the key players of reactive oxygen species production in the retina and further characterize this model of oxygen induced retinopathy.
