- In June of 2020 Dr. Allen Costa, MD joined the lab as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow.
- In February of 2020, the Fawzi laboratory was awarded a 4 year NEI funded RO1 grant (1R01EY030121-01A1) for exploring the angiogenesis-to-fibrosis transition in ischemic retinopathies.
- Dr. Fawzi was awarded the The Macula Society’s Young Investigator Award which is awarded to an individual under 50 years of age whose work gives high promise of a notable advance in the clinical treatment of disorders of the eye.
